Clark's Corner
At Clark's, we are all about reminiscing of the old days! May 6, 2011 brought us back to the 1940's with a Sock Hop. Our customers and even Clark's Employees all played the part in dressing up in their poodle skirts and leather jackets and danced the night away! The band RB/X played some of the greatest hits of the 40's and 50's as well as held a hoola-hoop contest. These shots really show the awesome atmosphere that we see here everyday at Clark's.
April 16th brought one of Amador County's most well known country singer Erin Mckinney! To mix it up, Erin invited some of her fellow musician friends to join her as well. Kristy O. tagged along all the way from Nashville Tennessee! She brought her nationally known hits as well as her incredible voice and country voice. Darcel Hunter also appeared for a few songs to help complete the night of country music!
April 9th took us back to the 1980's complete with big hair, "hair band" rock and of course far from classy style, all in hopes of raising money and awareness for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America! The party rolled in with many dressed out of their 1980's chest of 'clothes never to be worn again" in support of raising money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
Every day brings something new to Clark's. Whether it is making friends with a Harly rider who rode all the way from Oklahoma, fueling up the hundreds of cyclists who make Clark's their stop every week, or our regulars who religiously start their days off with our not so average cup of jo, there is always something to be enjoyed at any given time. This album will feature just those events that make the employee's days at Clark's special everyday.
February 24th, 2011 brought inspiration and hope in the form of Abby Rike. As a contestant on NBC's the Biggest Loser, Abby was instantly known for her kind heart, tragic story and determination. Her tragic story was told throughout the United States and after her appearance on the Biggest Loser, she decided to continue to tell her story and help others find their way to hope.
This year, Clark’s Corner has made an other goal to create an atmosphere like no other in their brand new banquet room. On February 14, 2011, Clark’s hosted their first Valentine’s dinner. After transforming their banquet room into a romantic setting for lovers, their head chef Katie created an absolutely stunning and delicious three course meal. From the heart shaped croutons, to a sweet heart steak topped with grilled prawns, of course, in the shape of a heart, the air was filled with nothing but love… AND incredible food! Desert consisted of a heart shaped chocolate and espresso butter cake for two.

January 8,2011 brought us great food, awesome music and a packed full dance floor! Clark’s Corner hosted their first ever Country Night. Head Chef Katie put together a spectacular classic country dinner consisting of BBQ pork ribs, roasted chicken, corn and black bean salad and killer cornbread. With a packed banquet room and a sold out dinner, everyone had better fuel up for a full night of dancing… and it turned out to be just that! After dinner the Rupert Duncan Band played all sorts of country from old Johnny Cash to new Keith Urban – sounds that really got the dance floor hoppin’!
On January 1, 2011 Clark's Corner welcomed "30 Years After" a classic rock band that got it's start in Ione in 1970. The band was known as "The Morning After" and they played their first gig on Main Street Ione during Thursday Night Jump Night. Thursday Night Jump Night was a weekly tradition that brought hundreds of Amador County teenagers, 14 and up, to Main St. Ione. While the band split up to "grow up" and fulfill other dreams, the passion for music continued and the band was reborn again under the name "30 Years After" and made their re-debut at Clark's Corner with a packed house. Still playing the classic hits we all know and love, the joint was jumpin'. Check out the photos and relive the moment (if you were here) or experience the event through some great photos that captured the evening.
